Sol Y Sombra and Poco Sombra
In addition to revitalizing the guest rooms at the new Paloma Resort, H3K Home+Design was asked to imagine a dramatic and compelling look for Sol Y Sombra, the resort’s Spanish cuisine restaurant, and Poco Sombra, the resort’s 1930s-inspired speakeasy that will provide a space for tequila tastings. Sol Y Sombra is located in an adobe building, a former Pony Express stop and one of the oldest buildings in the Coachella Valley. For this unique space, H3K chose to use a Mediterranean style, with festive colors and slick furniture choices. The Poca Sombra speakeasy, accessed through a private hidden entrance in the adobe building, is decorated with nods to a classic art deco style, using smoky colors, textured walls, and lighting accents that add a mysterious aura to the enchanting space.
