Sunburst Palms Home Tour

Enjoy the sunshine as you join us for a flashback tour of Sunburst Palms in the beautiful historic neighborhood of Deepwell in Palm Springs, previously open to Modernism Week attendees in 2021. Designed by Lawrence Lapham and built for Academy Award-winner Edward “Bud” Furer in 1956, this quintessentially midcentury Modern house features a sweeping tongue and groove flat roof that spans the entire width of the property.

Green Gables Home Tour

Join us for a flashback tour of Green Gables, designed by Palmer-Krisel and built in 1958 by the Alexander Construction Company. This original 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home has been previously open to Modernism Week attendees after undergoing a complete renovation by H3K Design in 2019. The house sits on an oversized manicured lot at the gateway to the Twin Palms development–the first major Alexander subdivision in Palm Springs–where its high gable roofline is an ideal example of midcentury Modern design with walls of glass, dramatic ceilings floating in the air and natural stone walls. Come see the expanded master bathroom, the restored interior atrium, and a kitchen that pays homage to the kitchens of the midcentury era.

Limón Design Project Tour

Join us for a flashback tour of Limón, a colorful seven-bedroom private escape in South Palm Springs inspired by the optimistic era and continental graphics and style of the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, previously opened to Modernism Week attendees as a Featured Design Project in 2022. Constructed in 1964 and originally built as an apartment house named Stuart Manor, Limón is one of the most unique buildings in Palm Springs as it is an all-steel structure. Fans of the famous Town and Country Restaurant located in downtown Palm Springs’ “The Center” will be interested to know that its owners and builders, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke, also built this fireproof residential building.
